It was 8 years ago that I was first captured by the ceramic arts. I was studying at university in New Zealand when I took a class at the local art society in pottery. I used to go to the pottery studio at all hours of the morning to work on my projects often seeing the light of the next day while sitting at a wheel. Then I moved. And it wasn’t until six years later that I picked it up again. This time I was in Japan, and with it’s history of ceramic excellence, access to local potters and  great exhibitions I was inspired to new heights; albeit low ones. Now I live in London where I attempt to continue learning the broad art of ceramics. Things are a bit spartan at present. I am especially strapped for space and tools, but it is amazing what you can do when pressed for both.
